(Photos by Jody Dominigue) In early 2018, UTC Partners contracted me to cover their presence at the OPEX conference at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The plan was for me to capture Managing Partner Joe Bassani's breakout session, as well as interactions in their booth on the conference floor. Pre-event, I brought their branding to life with an animated logo. Joe's partner Christina wanted to create a compelling experience in their booth and we collaborated to create a system where they could add paintings as the conference progressed.
Additionally UTC Partners wanted to take this opportunity to capture content for a series of promotional videos they were planning to create. Not only did I document the event in painting, but I also brought in Director/Editor Dustin Scott and photographer Jody Dominigue to capture the event in multiple mediums and conduct interviews with Joe which would be used as talk track for the videos.
During and post-event UTC Partners used the drawings and photos for engaging social content on LinkedIn and Twitter. Meanwhile Dustin and I began animating and editing from the captured content creating 5 videos: 4 covering various the various topics that Joe speaks on, plus one general reel that covers the philosophy and capabilities of their consultancy. Joe and Christina were amazing partners and their collaborative approach helped make this a successful and fulfilling project.
